Title: The New Generation of Hackable Electronics
Abstract: Five years ago, the Arduino launched a revolution in electronics, making microprocessors easier to learn, easier to use, and easier to integrate into projects. Since then, a large collection of low-cost embedded development environments have emerged. Today, new hardware experimenters can choose between the Raspberry Pi, the Beaglebone, the Electric Imp, and others, and the many flavours of arduino are still popular. This talk will discuss the current state of hackable hardware, in the context of a few popular projects including wireless sensor networks and internet-endabled devices.
